About the author

Chris gained a distinction award for a Masters in Documentary Photography course for his project – Hope, memories, loss and community – telling hidden stories of regeneration throughout Glasgow, including the disappearance of the Glasgow High Rise and forced evictions to make way for the Commonwealth Games. Extracts and imagery from this project were featured in various newspapers and magazines across Scotland and Europe. Out-with Glasgow and the UK he travels across the world documenting a range of social and healthcare issues for a range of International NGO’s and charities as well as TV and news, including documenting post earthquake Haiti for CNN, and working on a long term project of documenting state institutions for children across Eastern Europe. As a visual artist he has also exhibited photography, multimedia and social documentary projects across the UK and Europe in a range of venues from the House of Commons in London, to setting up his self funded and self promoted shows in spaces in Glasgow. In 2012 he designed a projection of timelapse documenting state institutions in Eastern Europe that was exhibited at the European Parliament in Brussels. In 2013 he will be releasing his first feature length documentary – Finding Family, and he will be working on two artist residencies for Glasgow Life and North Lanarkshire Council. He continues to work on his long term documentation of Glasgow – in a multimedia project called – The Glasgow Renaissance.
