Sandra Gaudenzi has started her career as a television producer, she then moved into interactive television, and has been teaching interactive media theory at the London College of Communication (University of the Arts London) since 1999. After ten years of reporting for a variety of satellite televisions from London, Sandra took a year of in 1997 and did an MA in Multimedia at the London College of Printing. She then worked for Flextech Interactive, SmashedAtom and Workhouse Productions as an interactive producer. But, since her passion was in interactive documentary, and very little production was made at that time, she started teaching interactive media theory and interactive narrative at the London College of Communication. Her research interests include interactive documentary, participatory practices, transmedia storytelling, locative experiences and games for change. In 2007 Sandra started a PhD in interactive documentary at Goldsmiths, London. As part of her research she created www.interactivedocumentary.net, a blog that documents her own experience of doing a PhD. The website also contains one of the first archives ever done of interactive documentaries produced before 2011. Her PhD - The Living Documentary: from representing reality to co-creating reality in digital interactive documentary – is now finished and available online. Sandra has also co-convened i-Docs, a conference totally dedicated to interactive documentaries, that was hosted by the DCRC, part of the University of West England. The conference took place in Bristol, UK, in 2011 and 2012. Sandra is a creative editor of i-Docs' very active website and Facebook group. Now that her PhD is finished Sandra has more time to act as a mentor for new interactive factual projects. She will be an adviser on the Future of Documentary REACT project, in fall 2013.
